Nestled away in the Constania Valley in the southern suburbs of Cape Town, Open Door offers stunning views of the oldest wine-producing region in the Southern Hemisphere.

This beautiful restaurant, which was originally a school house built in the early 1900s, pays tribute to its heritage while offering guests a beautiful, contemporary setting to enjoy its world class cuisine. Honouring the building’s humble beginnings, Open Door has used salvaged wooden beams for the entry way and guests will find pictures of the old school lining the walls.

If you’re in the mood for something a bit lighter, the Café Menu is available from 1200 to 1500. It features soup, salads, burgers and sandwiches as well as a children’s menu. The a la carte menu offers delicious fine dining options that are still grounded in a feeling of comfort food. Lasagne, roasted line fish and venison loin are just a few of options available for mains.

As you’d expect from a restaurant located in the Constantia Valley, the wine selection is superb. Along with local favourites, it also includes an international selection as well as a sommeliers selection of wine by the glass. King’s Blockhouse is also available if you’re looking for the perfect craft beer to compliment your meal.
