Our take on the traditional English Special, this well balanced, easy drinking ale has become a favourite for long sessions with friends at the pub.
Also known as a Special, Best or Premium Bitter, the Devil’s Peak English Ale has a flavourful, refreshing appeal with a lower alcohol level. Made for year-round consumption.
Aroma: Moderate malt aromas including roastyness, hints of caramel and some mocha. Moderate to low levels of ester aromas with earthy/savoury hop aromas derived from the European hop varieties.
Appearance: Light brown to copper in colour. Clear with an off white, persistent head.
Flavour: Good balance between the malt characters. Fruity esters are present with low to medium level of bitterness.
Mouthfeel: Full, creamy palate with a light body and low levels of carbonation.
Overall Impression: A typical example of the traditional English Special with lower levels of bitterness.
Style: English Ale
