The Explorer Series

Devils Peak Explorer

Exploration – we’re hard-wired for it.

Ages before our ancestors considered smearing pigment on cave walls to tell the story of their grand adventures, countless numbers of bold souls looked toward distant mountains, across vast stretches of ocean, and into the darkest forests of our diverse planet. “I’ll take the first step.”

It is in that same spirit that Devil’s Peak Brewing Company approaches the challenge of developing bold new beers which will earn a place in our Explorer Series. We’re very proud of our award winning Founders Series, but we also know Devil’s Peak fans expect industry leading innovation from our team. With this in mind, we have started developing and trialing new recipes at our brewery in the heart of Cape Town.

On any given Friday, you’ll find our brewers hard at work on our 90 litre recipe development system. With the flame cranked and wort bubbling, the air fills with the sweet scent of malt and hops from all over the world. This is what brewing is about. This is where we make our mark in the history of South African craft.

“There comes a point where you have to push forward into new things. The Explorer Series is the evolution of Devil’s Peak and a preview of many exciting things to come.” – JC Steyn, DPBC Brewer

With styles like Black IPA, Imperial IPA, Rye IPA, Rye Saison, American Pale Ale, and English Ale, we’re bringing flavours and styles you’ve likely never tried and aren’t soon to forget.

These small batches of new beers are available exclusively on the rotating taps of our very own Taproom (follow @thetaproomDPBC for daily tap tweets at noon). When we’re ready to release them to the masses, they will be available in limited, bottled quantities sent to select retailers. But if you’re reading this, you’re not one of the masses. You’re busy wondering what’s over the next hill.

We’ll be waiting for you.
